Rebekah Hutten
Rebekah Hutten, M.A., Senior Consultant, is a McGill University Ph.D. Candidate with over a decade of experience as a writer and researcher. Rebekah specializes in qualitative research and analysis, particularly ethnographic methodologies, including social listening. She brings a deep skill set in presenting research findings and designing accessible, compelling, and infographic-rich documents. Rebekah is certified in GBA+ (Gender Based Analysis Plus).
Her work encompasses strategic planning, feasibility assessments, organizational review, and business planning. Rebekah has contributed research to projects across various sectors, with a passion for tourism strategy, arts and culture, rural community development, housing, and collaborating with Indigenous communities. She is currently Project Manager for the Valley Regional Enterprise’s Tourism Infrastructure and Services Gaps Analysis, and for the Lunenburg Academy Foundation’s new Strategic Plan.
As an author, her academic writing has been published by Cambridge University Press and Wesleyan University Press. She is co-editor of the forthcoming edited collection, Collaborative Methodologies, under contract with the University of Alberta Press. Rebekah’s doctoral research explores women’s work in rural Nova Scotian musical communities using a combination of archival and ethnographic methods.
Rebekah holds a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Arts, Hon. from Acadia University, and a Master of Arts in Musicology from the University of Ottawa. Before joining 21FSP, Rebekah worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant in both the University of Ottawa and McGill University music departments, and has a background in flute performance and vegetable farming. She is proud to call the Annapolis Valley home.
