Project description

21FSP was contracted by the Valley Regional Enterprise Network to conduct a Tourism Infrastructure and Services Gaps Analysis, focusing on sectoral gaps and opportunities in the Annapolis Valley.

The goal of the project is to uncover ways to connect tourism experiences, attract more visitors, encourage longer stays and repeat visits, and strengthen tourism across the region.

The study included multiple lines of inquiry to best understand sectoral gaps. Methods of inquiry included background research, data collection, data visualization, site visits, and widespread engagement through different methods (interviews, survey, and validation sessions). The project included multiple community validation sessions and knowledge sharing activities. In total, over 300 individuals were engaged during the project lifespan.

The final report identifies 32 key gaps, documented 482 tourism assets, and highlights opportunities for investment, collaboration, and regional development through six recommendations.
